Dry Air Technology – Inhalio uses a dry-air diffusion system, the most modern and healthiest approach to scent diffusion, and one that alleviates the problems associated with liquid, or oil-based systems. Dry-air diffusion systems are just that. Systems that force dry-air across a contained substrate that has been infused with a fragrance or other active ingredients. The process of using pressurized airflow over an infused material, such as a porous polymer bead that has been infused with pure oil, creates a stream of dry-air scent molecules. By avoiding the evaporation process and eliminating the use of solvents or water to evaporate an oil-based scent, there is no scent mist or droplet residue in the air, eliminating many health-related issues. By working at the molecular level, dry-air diffusers can be more precisely controlled, diffusing exactly how much dry-air scent is needed in a given space, at a specific temperature, and taking into consideration other factors. These control factors are typically referred to as a “scent profile.”
CARB Compliant – The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is a state agency charged with responsibility for protecting the public from harmful effects of air pollution. CARB is a recognized standard for air quality for many industries. Inhalio dry air diffusion technology is CARB compliant and certified, and in fact exceed the regulatory requirements set by CARB. Using a dry-air system, without solvents and alcohols, Inhalio scent diffusion delivers the lowest possible levels of VOCs and PPM (parts per million) in the scent diffusion industry.
IFRA Compliant – IFRA Standards exist to provide confidence when it comes to the safe use of fragrance ingredients. For more than 40 years, the fragrance industry has carefully examined ingredients used in fine fragrance, setting rules that are recognized by government authorities and trade bodies around the world and which are compulsory for all IFRA members – who produce around 80 per cent of the global volume of fragrance. The IFRA recommendations are grouped into three categories as follows: P (prohibited) The material should not be used as a fragrance ingredient; R (restricted) The use of the material should be limited quantitatively; S (specified) The material should only be used if it meets certain purity criteria or if it used in conjunction with other materials. All scents used by Inhalio have an IFRA certificate.
No Nebulization or Atomization – Unlike liquid-based oil diffusion systems, Inhalio is a dry-air system. Liquid or “wet” systems have three fundamental drawbacks. First, they are highly prone to diffuse particulate matter, droplets, and even higher degree of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) into the air that are known health hazards. Secondly, they are messy in that they require the handling and replenishment of a hazardous and highly concentrated liquid substance. And thirdly, these systems lack the necessary precision to release a specific amount of scent that is perfectly mapped to a surrounding environment.
